Introducing the new AccessMyGov (AMG) Inspection Request Site
The City of Birmigham is excited to announce its new AccessMyGov (AMG) website which allows permit holders to request inspections online right up to 6:30 a.m. the morning of a needed inspection (as long as there is still availability for that date). If you have already created an account and linked your contractor name with The City of Birmingham, you can go directly to I have an account to schedule your inspection.
How do I create an on-line account?
Please create an online account and follow the registration process. You will be sent an e-mail once your account is created. After you have clicked on the link in the e-mail, your account will be activated.
Once I've Created the account, how do I link it with the City of Birmingham?
1. While logged into your AMG account, click on the "Municipalities" button on the top right- hand corner of your screen.
2. Search for and click on the "City of Birmingham" link.
3. Under the Building Department heading (in the tree on the left of your screen), click on the"View My Activity."
4. From here click on the yellow "I Have a Pin" link and enter your pin number which our office e-mailed to your place of business. (This pin will link your AccessMyGov account with The City of Birmingham contractor account)
Once you have created and linked your account, you will be able to log in to AMG 24/7 to request inspections. In the past, inspections were requested through an automated inspection line. This line is still an option, but we intend to limit it's use beginning April 1, 2018. AMG is currently up and running, and we encourage all contractors to become familiar and comfortable with this process for future inspection requests. Our Inspectors are generally in the office and available for questions between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., for scheduling questions.
