Political Sign Regulations
The City requests that the political candidates, parties/groups and the residents on whose properties the political signs are being placed, make a conscious effort to minimize the number and durational display of political signs in an attempt to reduce the aesthetic problems, visual blight and potential driving/safety hazards, which would benefit all of the residents of Birmingham.
The City requests the following guidelines be adhered:
1. That persons refrain from displaying political signs on their property more than forty-five (45) days before the election/vote
2. That the political signs be removed within three (3) days after the election/vote
3. That the number of political signs for each candidate or issue to be voted on at the election be limited to one (1) sign per candidate or issue for those parcels of property with frontage of less than 100 feet and two (2) signs per candidate or issue for those parcels of property with frontage of 100 feet or more or parcels constituting corner lots.
Complete resolution as adopted by the City Commission on March 7, 2011.
