W. Maple Rd. – Cranbrook Rd. to Southfield Rd.
In July and August of this year, this 1.2 mile segment of Maple Rd. will be resurfaced. The existing asphalt will be removed, the underlying concrete street will be repaired as needed, and new asphalt will be placed. As a part of the work, all new handicap ramps will be installed at each intersection, and concrete curb repairs are planned as needed. Finally, a new off road bike path will be installed on the south side of the street between Larchlea Dr. and Chesterfield Ave. to facilitate a new Neighborhood Connector Route planned throughout the City. It is expected that all through traffic will be detoured away from this section for about three to four weeks to allow this work to be completed.
Before the asphalt work begins, a separate sewer repair project will be conducted in May or June. For about three weeks, various sewer sections will be excavated and repaired. The work will occur in two areas:
Chesterfield Ave. to Suffiield Ave.
Baldwin Ave. to Southfield Rd.
The road will remain open to traffic during this time, but flagging may result in backups, particularly during the middle of the workday.
