There’s a new officer in town and she’s ready to serve and protect. Well, maybe just serve.  Maple is a Bernese Mountain dog and has joined the department as a certified therapy dog. Maple will work with adults and children in need of comfort and compassion resulting from traumatic or stressful events. Maple will also travel to schools with officers during speaking engagements or when officers are present to ensure safety. She can be seen walking the downtown streets, City parks and other events with officers to engage the public as a friendly police presence. Maple can usually be found in the police department when she is not out and about. Please stop by and say hello. Maple loves visitors and sharing her toys!
