Note: The Allen House at the Birmingham Museum will be temporarily closed from May 1, 2023 to June 15, 2023 for our window restoration project. The Hunter House will remain open to the public, and museum staff will be on site to assist you and answer questions.

In person lectures at the Baldwin Public Library are held on a monthly basis from October through March, and available on our YouTube channel after presentation, courtesy of the Baldwin Library. For more information, see our events listings.

Business Hours: Museum staff are on hand Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 to 4:00 p.m. Appointments for research or special tours can be made outside those times in advance. Closed holidays in accordance with the City of Birmingham's holiday schedule.
Admission: From May 1 -June 15, 2023, admission is reduced to $3.00 per person for guided tours of the Hunter House while the Allen House is closed.
Adults: $7.00
Seniors (65+): $5.00
Students (5-18): $5.00
Children under 5 are FREE.
Friends (Birmingham Historical Society) Members: FREE

Parking
Enjoy 2 hours of free parking across from the Museum, at the Chester Street parking deck. A credit card is required for entry, but no charge will be applied if the visitor exits the parking structure before the two-hour limit.
