The Birmingham Ice Sports Arena offers skating opportunities for those of all ages. Whether you want to rent ice for a party, participate in open skating, or register for skating lessons, the Arena offers something for everyone! Located on the Kenning Park property, the indoor arena contains a regulation sized ice rink with bleacher seating for 960 spectators. A smaller, studio arena is used for lessons and skating parties within the complex.
The Arena is also the home of the Birmingham Unified Kings, the combined hockey team of Seaholm and Groves High Schools.

Ice Arena Renovation/Addition Project Awarded to Andrus Architecture
The City of Birmingham recently awarded the Birmingham Ice Arena Architectural and Engineering Services project to Andrus Architecture in the amount not to exceed $288,900.00. Ice Arena improvements will include the following:
1) Locker Room Expansion and Remodel of Existing Locker Rooms
2) Adding a Female and Team Locker Room
3) New Observation Area and Meeting Room Space
4) New Concession Area Upgrades

Ice Arena Safety Protocols
The safety of our employees and guests is our No. 1 priority. Therefore, we ask you adhere to the following rules and regulations set forth by the City of Birmingham as part of the reopening plan.
- Below are the following action items along with the diagram of how to enter/exit the building in order to access the building and ice safely.
- Stay home if you are sick or have been exposed to an infected individual.
- You must arrive no more than 15 minutes before your scheduled ice session and fully dressed for your on-ice activity.
- Social distancing staging areas will be available only for participants to put on their skates and helmets.
- Upon entering the facility you must sign in. Include date, time, name and phone number.
- All skaters, coaches, parents and spectators are mandated to wear a facial covering at all times while indoors as well as on the ice. Failure to wear facial coverings will shall result in discontinued access to the Birmingham Ice Sports Arena.
- Bags may be left in the locker rooms.
- For the Figure Skating Club of Birmingham (FSCB), staging will be in front of the concession stand.
- Only the one (1) water filler station near Section A bleachers will be available. Bring your own water bottle.
- Showers/bathrooms in the locker rooms will be locked and unavailable to all.
- At the conclusion of your ice time, you will have approximately 10 minutes to remove your skates and exit the building, as we need time to properly clean between each group.
- There will be no lost and found, as all items will be discarded.
- There will be no skate rental.
- Concession stand will remain closed.

Birmingham Unified Ice Hockey
Formed in 1992, the Birmingham Unified Kings is a unified program for the school district. Varsity and JV teams are made up of students from Groves and Seaholm high schools. Home games are played on Saturday evenings from November - February. For information on the BU Kings, visit www.buvarsity.com.
