During the Birmingham Ice Sports Arena closure the Parks and Recreation Office has been temporarily located to the Department of Pubic Services, 851 South Eton.  Although closed to the public contact city staff at  248.530.1642 for assistance or email cfolk@bhamgov.org.

Birmingham Ice Sports Arena
The Birmingham Ice Sports Arena offers skating opportunities for those of all ages. Whether you want to rent ice for a party, participate in open skating, or register for skating lessons, the arena offers something for everyone! Located on the Kenning Park property, the indoor arena contains a regulation sized ice rink with bleacher seating for 550 spectators. A smaller, studio arena is used for lessons and skating parties within the complex.

The Birmingham Ice Sports Arena is home for:
-Girls Birmingham Unified Varsity High School Figure Skating Team, a combination of girls from Seaholm and Groves High Schools.
-Birmingham Unified Kings, the combined hockey team of Seaholm and Groves High Schools.

Learn To Skate Class Registration:
Class information will be available mid-July.
Classes will begin mid-September 2021 and will run through the summer, 2022.  

Public Skating Sessions:
Sessions begin mid-September and will run through the summer, 2022.

Open Public Skate:
Adults: $6/per skater
Seniors (55): $5/per skater
17 & Under: $5/per skater
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 9:30 am - 10:50 am
Tuesdays: 10:00 am - 10:50 am
Mondays - Thursdays: 1:10 pm - 2:30 pm
All Ages
Skate Rental Available

Adult Skate:
Adults: $6/per skater
Seniors (55): $5/per skater
Monday - Friday: 11:00 am -1:00 pm
18 years and older

Birmingham Unified Ice Hockey
Formed in 1992, the Birmingham Unified Kings is a unified program for the school district. Varsity and JV teams are made up of students from Groves and Seaholm high schools.  Home games are played on Saturday evenings from November - February. • Take 75 South to 14 mile West
