At this time, the Birmingham Museum will remain open to the public, but group activities and special events are canceled as a precaution. As a City of Birmingham facility, our staff is following all precautions and guidance issued by the State of Michigan and the CDC regarding sanitizing high-touch surfaces and social distancing recommendations. We understand that visitors may feel more comfortable staying home for the time being, but are curious about our exhibits or have other research questions. We're here and we'll help! Give us a call, send a comment on Facebook, or post a question on Twitter and we will do our speedy best to get back to you.

Museum Events and Activities

The Museum schedules public events for adults and children to offer a variety of cultural experiences in keeping with our current exhibitions and educational mission.  Museum staff plan and hold events at the museum or on the grounds, and our events are tied to our current exhibits or to our collection of Birmingham-related artifacts.

However, other events that relate to the museum are coordinated by the Friends of the Birmingham  Museum, and may include off-site fund-raising activities, lectures, or other special events.  See more information on a variety of past Museum events and upcoming Museum events
